School Garden Project We are very happy to let you know that the Ventana Vista Garden project is well underway! A partnership between Community Gardens of Tucson and CFSD Community Schools, we are happy to say that Tax Credit Dollars have been the main source of funding for this project. Some of you may already noticed early morning activities on the west side of our school, where the garden land had been cleared, plots marked, excavated, and filled with compost.

Our school garden will consist of plots open to the members of the community and plots for every grade level in our school. We hope to engage our children in exciting, educational, and delicious world of gardening, as it relates to the CFSD curriculum, as well as through extra curricular activities. Community Schools will be offering a gardening class after school hours in the near future.

As always, dear parents, we are looking for your help to make this a reality. Anyone who is interested in actively participating in gardening, learning about it, starting a lunch compost campaign, or just helping out the teachers in your child's grade with the gardening projects – we need you!!!! We are very happy to answer any of your questions and to speak to you about volunteering commitments.

If you are interested in having a garden plot in the Ventana Vista Community Garden, contact Community Gardens of Tucson to reserve your plot at 520-795- 8823, e-mail admin@communitygardensoftucson.org or by mail at P.O. Box 65900, Tucson, AZ 85728
