Mileage Club 2016

(Thursdays at lunch time!)

Keep on treking!

See that first couple week's results! Zuniga's class is in the lead to earn the kinder trophy for the month with 22.8 miles in October. Clark is in the lead for the upper grades trophy with 20.6 miles. There are 2 more mileage club sessions in October so every class still has a chance! Class winners will be announced at the end of the month and trophies will be delivered to the winning classes to keep for the month of November.

We are stocked with lots of new colorful tokens!

VV Mileage ClubWHAT IS IT: Janet Holland (former PE teacher) created the Mileage Club in 2010 in an effort to encourage exercise and healthy activity after lunch. Students can meet to walk, jog, or run laps in the upper field after lunch two days a week. They receive prizes for the exercise accomplishments. A new and fun twist this year: Mrs. Mulay has agreed to ride around campus on a tricycle for the day if Ventana Vista successfully completes 1000 miles. Follow our progress at

HOW DOES IT WORK: Mileage Club depends on volunteers to cheer on students, pass out and punch holes in Mileage Club cards, and hand out tokens and prizes. Weather-permitting, just show up at the lower field on Thursdays at any of the following times:

11:00-11:30: Kindergarten lunch recess
12:00-12:20: Grades 3, 4 & 5 lunch recess
12:20-12:40: Grades 1 & 2 lunch recess

VV Mileage ClubAny and all help is greatly appreciated! Being a mileage club monitor is a fun and rewarding way to help our students be active during lunch.

PRIZES NEEDED FOR STUDENTS: The Mileage Club is always looking for small prizes for the daily participation drawings. Most of the items we find come from the Oriental Trading Company but they could be almost any fun, non-edible item. If you would like to contribute please leave them in the front office or drop them by Janet Holland's office in the MPR.

If you have questions or would like to help, please ontact Jen Schiller at or our P.E.Teacher, Ms. Eva Lankes.
